We decided to stay at the Langham for a weekend break in Melbourne and it was a great choice. The location is perfect, it's a short walk over the bridge into town plus there's lots of bars and restaurants right next door on Southbank. Our room had a nice view of the city and the river even though it wasn't one of the river view rooms. The room was spacious and well decorated with a luxurious feel. The bed was huge and really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the gym and the pool which were both very good, my wife also had a massage and facial at the Chuan Spa was she thoroughly enjoyed. We'll definitely be staying again the next time we're in Melbourne, it was worth the extra cost for the luxury.

perfect spot for city walks and park views
I enjoyed the very nice views of the city and river from my room, along with the fantastic buffet breakfast that offered a wide variety of choices while overlooking the scenic landscape outside. It was like the perfect way to start each day. As someone who loves city strolls, the short walk to the Royal Botanic Gardens made it so easy to explore the area at my own pace.

Beautiful, luxurious surroundings and decor. Great view and food. Staff professional and very pleasant. Close proximity to southbank/city, cafes etc. My daughter and I actually stayed two nights.
Few items were missing from room so had to chase them up. Not good especially at this price level. Have not looked at web review so cannot comment on question below.

great stay but minor issues with amenities
The river view from our room was fine. The spaciousness of the room added to our comfort.
Some amenities felt slightly underwhelming compared to the overall elegance.

I stayed at the Langham for one night as I was attending a wedding reception there. The staff were so accommodating. They assisted me in getting to different locations around Melbourne (the church, airport etc)with great advice about transport (trams, trains, skybus). I had a great stay and the bed was amazingly comfortable!!

The Langham is in an ideal position in regards to transport, shopping, theatre and restaurants/cafes.We caught the skybus from Melb airport to the skybus depot and then driven to the hotel in a complimentary bus.It was so easy and cheap for us to travel. We were at the hotel in less than half an hour from landing. My husband and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and it was spectacular. We really enjoyed the top class gym, had soothing massages in the Chuan Spa and ate at the Melba restaurant where the food was divine. Nearby cafes offer variety on Hotel food and the sights were all in easy walking distance.

We chose to stay at the Langham Hotel because we had stayed there many times before, for business reasons and always loved it. The reason for this stay was so as to be close to the State Theatre. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room very quiet and comfortable. ( Great pillows ) Will definitely return.

It was just a decent option for spending the night in Melbourne with fantastic value. Staff were friendly and helped me settle down in the club lounge with a cappuccino while I waited for my room. Bring your own snacks. The room service can be a miss.
